Portal transports the reader between realms of fiction and non-fiction to explore the possibilities of the space-time continuum while also allowing them to compare and contrast the different ways in which parallel universes are portrayed in media.
The book organizes the works of fiction in a field-guide style. In addition to the fictional works, excerpts from scientific articles and journals are interspersed through the book to provide context on the theories and research that has been done on multiverses, wormholes, and time travel. Through this juxtaposition of science articles and fictional works, we can examine the intersections between fantasy and reality when it comes to parallel universes.
I used an exposed coptic-stitch binding with PVA bookbinding glue for added strength.
The featured fictional works are color-coded by medium. Red is used for literature, indigo for movies, and green for television shows.
